Winter Weather Alert

2-1-11 Feature Story:

As with the last few storms, the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers will continue to be in constant contact with Massachusetts Department of Public Health if/when the state Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated. If your health center decides to close, delay opening, or will only offer limited services, please contact the League. Also, please let the League know if your health center sustains any damages due to the storm.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have put out reminders for how to stay safe during hazardous winter weather. Both agencies recommend that we pay attention to weather forecasts, check emergency supplies, and be pro-active around our facilities to assist in snow removal and avoid damage. Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has also posted February Winter Storm Tips on its website with suggestions for preventing roof collapses, preparing for loss of major utilities, and road safety tips.

Note: If you would like to share your open/close status with the media, please do so directly through their websites. Please be aware that some media outlets have strict guidelines and will only accept closure notices from schools and religious services.
