6-10-11 Feature Story:
The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers will administer an emergency relief fund to assist Caring Health Center in Springfield which suffered major damage in the wake of the June 1st tornadoes. Proceeds will also be used to help other western and central Massachusetts health centers whose employees and patients were affected by the sudden and violent storms.
The League will work with Caring Health Center and other health centers to identify the level and scope of need for employees and patients, and to assist with their needs in covering facilities' costs not reimbursable through insurance. An initial estimate of these needs and costs exceeds $275,000. Disbursements will be made directly to the affected organizations for use at their discretion on priority needs.
