League Joins with MA DPH to Highlight Preparedness

9-13-13 Feature Story:

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers have joined forces to mark National Preparedness Month. This year's theme, Together We're Ready - Massachusetts Prepared, encourages Bay State residents, families and communities to make plans and prepare for severe weather, natural disasters and other emergency events. Each week of September will feature a different preparedness theme:

Week 1: Get Ready - Individual/Family Preparedness

Week 2: Get Involved - Join the Response

Week 3: We're All in this Together - Considerations for Individuals with Access and Functional Needs

Week 4: Get Vaccinated - Fight the Flu - which features a short video from our own Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center in Worcester talking about the importance of getting an annual flu vaccine

Click here to view the "Together We're Ready" brochure and visit the DPH website to get more ideas about ways you can be prepared for an emergency in Massachusetts. Additional resources can also be found on the Boston Public Health Commission website. Watch for events this month in your community, near your work, and at your local Community Health Center.
