SEARCH Information For Health Centers:

Program Objectives

  • Build a pipeline of primary care health care professionals interested in working within HPSAs and MUAs in Massachusetts through various first-rate, service linked multidisciplinary training opportunities in MA communities
  • Retain community health center primary care providers by providing career/faculty development opportunities
  • Increase and improve teaching capacity at Massachusetts community health centers
  • Facilitate and strengthen partnerships between communities and academic institutions (community-academic linkages)

Eligibility

All Massachusetts community health centers are invited to apply for participation in the SEARCH program. Interested sites will be evaluated prior to approval as student/resident training sites.

Primary Care preceptors/mentors from the following disciplines are eligible to participate in SEARCH:

  • Allopathic and Osteopathic Physicians
    • Family Medicine
    • General Internal Medicine
    • General Pediatrics
    • Obstetrics/Gynecology
  • Psychiatry
  • Dentists and Dental Hygienists
  • Clinical Psychologists; Clinical Social Workers; Psychiatric Nurse Specialists; and Marriage and Family Therapists
  • Family/Primary Care Nurse Practitioners; Primary Care Physician Assistants; and Certified Nurse-Midwives
