Digital Health Literacy and Health Tools

The Mass League assists community health centers and their patients with bridging the digital divide.
Through the FQHC Telehealth Consortium, founded in 2020, the Mass League provides funding, training, and technical assistance to support the adoption and effective use of digital health tools, digital navigation programs, and enrollment in low-cost internet services. The Consortium is co-led in partnership with Community Care Cooperative.
With generous funding provided by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute and other community partnerships, we have empowered patients and community health centers by:
- Staffing Digital Health Navigators at community health centers (CHCs) to directly support patients with their digital health needs.
- Assisting more than 58,000 patients with digital literacy, helping them confidently access and engage with their health care.
- Connecting communities through text messaging campaigns that have reached more than 200,000 residents eligible for affordable internet services.
- Expanding access to care by supporting telehealth, identifying best practices, and advocating for after-hours and urgent care telehealth appointments.
- Providing data and analytics to help CHCs make informed decisions that improve patient access, engagement, and outcomes.
- Advancing the adoption of digital health tools, including telehealth, patient portals, and remote patient monitoring, to strengthen patient care and engagement.
- Offering ongoing learning opportunities through educational sessions, peer collaboration, and mentorship.
The Future of Connected Care
The Mass League remains committed to helping community health centers and their patients overcome barriers to digital health. Through continued collaboration, innovation, and partnership, we will support the adoption of technology-enabled care, strengthen digital skills, and increase access to the resources that help patients connect with and manage their health. Together, we are building a more connected, informed, and accessible health care system.
