About Our Department
The Legal and Compliance Department oversees the organization’s legal affairs and corporate compliance. It also provides training and technical assistance on state and federal regulatory compliance, including emergency management and preparedness, for health centers.

Legal Counsel
The Legal Team provides legal advice to the Mass League and its subsidiaries on all legal issues, ranging from contracting, corporate governance, employment, insurance and indemnification, risk management, lobbying, and tax.
Internal Compliance Program
The Legal and Compliance Department oversees the Mass League’s internal corporate compliance program, which includes a corporate compliance program manual that contains all relevant operational policies and procedures.
External Compliance Technical Assistance
The Compliance and Emergency Management Team provides Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) to health center organizations, addressing a range of compliance areas, including federal and state requirements and emergency management topics.
Emergency Management Program
The state’s community health centers play a significant role in maintaining the health of communities and are recognized as critical partners in local, statewide, and national emergency response. The Mass League maintains a comprehensive Emergency Management & Preparedness Program, which provides compliance training and technical assistance for health centers in emergency management.

Health Center Compliance Academy
The Health Center Compliance Academy is a comprehensive compliance training program that aims to address gaps in compliance learning at community health centers. The academy offers health center staff regular paid webinars that dive deep into compliance topics, provide practical solutions to challenges, and promote a better understanding of federal and state regulations.
